Q1: How long does it actually take to get an Austria visa from the UK?
A1: Most of our clients get their decision within 10-15 working days after their embassy appointment. That said, June to September gets busy — appointment slots fill up fast and processing can stretch closer to 3-4 weeks. If you’re travelling in summer, book your appointment as early as you can rather than waiting.

Q2: Insurance — do I really need it, or is that just paperwork?
A2: It’s non-negotiable, unfortunately. Austrian consulates check this closely — your policy needs to cover at least €30,000 in medical costs and be valid across the whole Schengen area, not just Austria. We usually flag this early because it’s one of the most common reasons applications get sent back for correction.

Q3: What’s actually in the document pile I need to prepare?
A3: Passport (with at least 2 blank pages and 6 months validity left), recent bank statements, a hotel booking or invitation letter if you’re staying with someone, your flight itinerary, and something showing your ties to the UK — a job letter, payslips, that kind of thing. We go through this list with you properly rather than just handing you a checklist.

Q4: Can you book the appointment for me, or do I do that myself?
A4: We book it. Austrian visa appointment slots move quickly and knowing which centre has availability isn’t always obvious — we handle that part so you’re not refreshing a booking page every morning.

Q5: What if it gets rejected anyway?
A5: It happens sometimes, even with strong applications — consulates don’t always explain their reasoning. If it does, we sit down with you, work out what likely went wrong based on the case, and help you put together a stronger reapplication rather than just resubmitting the same thing.
